The 22nd Annual General & Scientific Meeting brings together Ghana’s leading physicians, surgeons, scientists, residents, policymakers and international partners for a week of learning, reflection, innovation and professional growth.
This year’s theme prompts an important conversation on the future of medical training in Ghana. With artificial intelligence reshaping how healthcare is delivered globally—and economic pressures challenging traditional models of specialist education—the AGSM offers a timely platform to explore practical reforms, new technologies and long-term strategies for strengthening training systems.

1. Pre-Conference Workshops — Monday, 8 December 2025
A full day of practical, faculty-led workshops designed to sharpen clinical skills, introduce emerging technologies, and strengthen specialist competencies across various disciplines.
2. Membership Graduation — Tuesday, 9 December 2025
A dignified ceremony celebrating newly qualified Members, Diplomates, award recipients, and the next generation of specialists.
The session includes:
- Formal processions
- Addresses by College leadership

- Presentation of awards
- Group photographs and refreshments
It is an important moment of recognition, honouring commitment and professional advancement.
3. Fellowship Induction — Wednesday, 10 December 2025
A landmark ceremony for the College, welcoming newly elected Fellows and Post-Fellowship graduates. Key features include:
- Messages from regional and international sister colleges
- Rector’s address
- Address by the Honourable Minister of Health
- Keynote address by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama
- Presentation of the Honorary Fellowship Award
- Induction of new Fellows and Senior Resident prize awards
The ceremony closes with official photographs, networking and refreshments.
4. Scientific Sessions — Thursday, 11 December 2025
A full day of parallel research presentations and expert discussions covering diverse areas of clinical practice, public health, health systems, and emerging technologies. These sessions provide evidence-based insights that guide both policy and practice.
5. Ethics Seminar — Thursday, 11 December 2025 (Afternoon)
A focused session led by Prof. Amos Laar on the theme: Equitable Allocation of Medical Services in Low-Resourced Settings. Participants can expect a deep and engaging discussion on ethics, fairness and priority-setting in healthcare delivery.
6. Business Meeting & Closing — Friday, 12 December 2025
A governance-focused assembly for Fellows and Members to deliberate on institutional matters, assess progress and help shape the College’s strategic direction for the coming year.
7. Annual College Dinner — Wednesday, 10 December 2025 (Evening)
A formal, invitation-only event at The Palms by Eagles, offering an elegant setting to celebrate accomplishments, strengthen professional relationships and honour the College community.
