Dr. Franklin Acheampong is the Head of Research at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), Accra, Ghana. He is a Fellow at the Ghana College of Pharmacist, a Member of the; African Federation of Emergency Medicine (AFEM), the International Pharmacists Federation (FIP), the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), and the International Professional Managers Association (IPMA).
He has led and collaborated on many global and local projects including being a reviewer on the Ghana Cardiovascular Guidelines Development, being a Trainer of Trainers on Diabetes, being the lead on the Medicines Formulary Team (KBTH), being the Principal Investigator on ANTIMALARIAL USE – (KBTH), being a Project Associate on the PSGH-BUSAC FUND Project-PSGH, etc.
He is a Visiting Scholar in Clinical Practice at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. He is also lectures on specialist programs at the Ghana College of Pharmacy.
He has been previously appointed and has successfully led and/or partnered to deliver outcomes, schedules, working guidelines etc. These areas include: Sub BMC Pharmacy, Emergency Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy, Medicine management, Human Resource Management, Practical Clinical Tutoring of Pharmacy students, Preceptor of Pharmacy Interns from within Ghana and those coming from abroad, Pharmaceutical Care provision, Drug Information Services provision, Drug Supplies Management, Clinical Research, Newsletter Editorials, Dispensing, etc.
