Dr. Gelal Abid Ali Alta'ai is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University, and a Consultant Physician at Al-Kadhimiya Teaching Hospital. He also manages a private clinic specializing in diabetes and endocrinology. In addition to his clinical and academic responsibilities, he delivers lectures across multiple medical disciplines including general internal medicine, endocrinology, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine, providing hands-on clinical training to undergraduate medical students.

He holds an M.B. Ch. B. from Al-Nahrain University, a Fellowship from the Iraqi Council of Medical Specialties in Internal Medicine (F.I.C.M.S), and is also certified with the MRCP in Endocrinology. He is an active member of numerous prestigious medical organizations including the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), the Endocrine Society, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE), the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the American Thyroid Association (ATA), the European Thyroid Association (ETA), and the Gulf Association of Endocrinology and Diabetes (GAED).

Dr. Alta'ai regularly contributes to international medical congresses as a speaker and has published research in areas such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, autoimmune diseases, and metabolic risk factors. His contributions also include peer review and commentary on international clinical guidelines, highlighting his engagement with current advancements in endocrinology and internal medicine.
