Dr. Ignatius Abowini Awinibuno is a Biomedical Scientist and health policy professional with extensive experience in medical laboratory science, health systems management, and allied health administration. His career spans clinical practice, education, research, and leadership within Ghana’s health sector. He has served in senior technical and managerial roles, contributing to laboratory quality improvement, clinical governance, and the development of policies supporting allied health services.

He has played a key role in national and regional health initiatives, serving on several professional councils, boards, and committees. His leadership contributions include his tenure as President of the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists and his involvement in the Africa CDC Regional Advisory Committee. Dr. Awinibuno’s research interests cover chemical pathology, public health laboratory science, and the intersection between laboratory medicine and mental health. His scholarly work has been published in both local and international journals.

He is recognized for his commitment to professional excellence, mentorship, and capacity building within the medical laboratory profession.
