Jennifer Boateng PharmD, MPH, BSc, MGCPS, FGCPS

Jennifer Boateng is a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist with expertise in Critical Care and Nutrition Support. She has extensive experience in hospital and community pharmacy practice, with particular skills in pharmaceutical care, medication review, drug therapy interventions, sterile and non-sterile compounding, medication safety, critical care pharmacotherapy, and nutrition support. She also has experience in training pharmacy students, interns, and other healthcare professionals.

Her academic and professional qualifications include PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) – ongoing, MPH (Master of Public Health), BSc Pharm (Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy), HND (Higher National Diploma) in Dispensing Technology, Certificate in Dispensing Technology, MGCPS (Clinical Pharmacy), and Fellowship in Critical Care and Specialized Nutrition from the West Africa Post Graduate College of Pharmacists.

She is currently a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Accra, Ghana. In this role, she provides pharmaceutical care to critically ill and neurosurgical patients, offers drug information and clinical advice to the critical care team, compounds sterile and non-sterile medicines, trains students, participates in emergency response, and monitors the rational use and prescribing of medicines.

Jennifer has also held leadership roles within hospital pharmacy practice, including Principal Pharmacist in the ICU and Pharmacy Manager at Greater Accra Regional Hospital. Her experience includes managing pharmaceutical care services, ensuring the availability of essential and emergency medicines, monitoring drug therapy, conducting medication reviews, providing patient counseling, preventing and reporting adverse drug reactions, and training pharmacy interns and healthcare staff.

In addition to her clinical practice, she has served as a lecturer and preceptor at several pharmacy and health training institutions, teaching areas including therapeutics, dispensing techniques, and hospital practice. Her combined experience in critical care, nutrition support, pharmacy management, clinical education, and pharmaceutical care supports her role in promoting safe and effective medication use and improved patient outcomes.
