Pharm. Mugide Nuru is a dedicated and self-motivated pharmacist with a strong background in both academic and clinical pharmacy practice. She currently serves as the Head of the Pharmacy Department at Kampala International University Teaching Hospital, where she also works as a hospital pharmacist. Additionally, Nuru is actively involved in teaching pharmacology, pharmacy laws, and professional ethics at the School of Pharmacy, Kampala International University.

In her leadership capacity, Nuru has contributed to the development and review of pharmacy curricula, having worked as a consultant for the harmonization of pharmacy training and practice across the East African Community. She has also been a key member of various committees, including the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda (PSU), where she serves as Vice President, Council Member, and Chairperson of the Education and Professional Development Committee. Her work includes co-investigating research projects, such as the Microcrystalline Cellulose production project and the SUPPACT project, and contributing to the advancement of pharmacy practice in Uganda.

Nuru’s professional experience extends to both community and hospital pharmacy practice. She has worked in community pharmacy and participated in internships across various pharmaceutical sectors, including industrial and clinical settings. Her diverse skill set encompasses research, communication, leadership, and time management, all of which she applies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health and research institutions.

Fluent in English, with proficiency in several local languages, Nuru’s interpersonal skills, integrity, and flexibility make her an asset in any team-oriented environment. She is committed to making meaningful contributions to the pharmaceutical profession and advancing healthcare delivery in Uganda and the East African region.
