Course Description

This course focuses on Parkinson's disease (PD), a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that presents significant challenges for individuals, families and healthcare systems in Ghana. With the aging population and increasing prevalence of PD, there is a critical need to increase knowledge and understanding of the disease among pharmacists. The course aims to equip pharmacists with accurate knowledge and practical skills to enhance the diagnosis, care and management of PD patients, while also promoting public awareness and strengthening pharmaceutical care in Ghana.. The course emphasizes the value of interdisciplinary care in improving patient outcomes and quality of life. By enhancing early detection and intervention, healthcare providers can play a critical role in the effective management of Parkinson’s Disease.
